Final day of the conference, and we're back to purely plenary (including review) talks. As I have every day I pass on the first review talk. There doesn't seem to be an obvious theme of the day.
10:00am: Ignatios Antoniadis, "Aspects of string phenomenology in the LHC era"
Fifteen minutes in and still on the review.
Parameterise BMSSM physics with renormalisable operators. And why not? Quartic Higgs coupling in superpotential can have meaningful effects on vacuum stability. Dimension five and six operators can raise the Higgs mass to 125 GeV at tree level, a possible solution/easing of the little fine tuning problem.
Is the SM Higgs unstable at high scales? Theoretically uncertain.
(Mini-)Split SUSY possible from strings through intersecting or magnetised branes; see Antoniadis & Dimopoulos, 2004. D-brane stacks have massless gauginos; intersections break SUSY and give (large) mass to scalars.
Extra U(1) for stability... fairly easy to derive from strings.
