The Heartland Institute Climate Denial Ads

Yesterday, the Heartland Institute put up some billboards comparing Global Warming to mass murder:

Thankfully they've already taken them down in the face of a torrent of criticism.  But I couldn't comment on this yesterday, I was too angry and needed to calm down.

I mean, how fucking evil do you have to be to do something like this?  There is no scientific debate on whether Anthropogenic Global Warming is happening.  The only debate comes from people like this, who are trying to obscure our knowledge for ideological and financial reasons.  That alone is already pretty damn wrong.  The possible consequences for humanity could be severe, with crop failures, droughts and the spread of tropical diseases among them.

But really, who cares how many poor people die if some really rich people make some more money, am I right?

And as I said: the scientific questions are settled.  The 'debate' is manufactured by organisations like the Heartland Institute; in short, they know that what they are saying is wrong.  But they don't care.

As you can see, I've really calmed down a lot.

Oh, I've also just noticed that they justified their actions using Climategate as evidenced that
the leaders of the global warming movement are willing to break the law and the rules of ethics to shut down scientific debate and implement their left-wing agendas.
Remember Climategate?  Where several years' worth of emails by climate researchers were hacked, so that a few comments could be taken out of context to smear those researchers?  (Are you sure that nothing in your last five years' of emails could be read to incriminate you?  Really)  The one were eight fucking seperate investigations exonerated the researchers?  That is the example of scientists breaking the rules?

Fuck these people.
